Ultratrace Portable Total Gaseous Mercury Vapor Analyzer Gardis-7

Description

Model GARDIS-7

Total Gaseous Mercury (TGM) analyzer is a portable instrument featuring a superior detection limit of 0.5 pg Hg (in the terms of mass), or below 0.1 ng/m3 Hg, in terms of concentration. Example: measurement range will be 0 - 2000 ng/m3 Hg and detection limit will be 0.1 ng/m3 when the sampled air volume is selected at 5 litre. The measurement range (as concentration) can be varied widely by varying sampled air volume.

Principle of operation.

Double (optional) or single gold amalgamation and atomic absorption spectroscopy is employed. Two-beam UV photometer with the automated zero drift suppression is used, light modulation and phase-sensitive detection of the light signal is employed for the precise quantification of the results.

Sample train. One or two (optional) gold traps are installed in series to run gold amalgamation procedure. The internal gas pumping system provides different gas streams for sampling and analysis. The sampled air volume is quantified with the internal mass flow meter. The gas train is all Teflon® and quartz glass upstream to the optical cell. The analyzer uses ambient air as the carrier gas into the detection system and thus no separate carrier gases are required.

Applications

High-time-resolution monitoring of TGM concentration in ambient air and other gases, from atmospheric background up to health-hazardous levels. The Analyzer can be brought to any place to immediately detect TGM concentration in ambient air by pressing a button. On the other hand, our dedicated software makes it easy to program the analyzer for unattended operation, e. g. in air pollution monitoring stations. Complies to the standard DIN EN 15852:2010.

Detection of trace quantities of Hg vapor in various experimental setups. We offer accessories for the semi-automated analysis of liquid samples (acid-pretreated water, digested biota, etc.).

Automation

The analyzer can be operated in manual ("press buttons") mode, or it can work connected with PC, or it can be programmed and left to operate in stand-alone mode. Our software enables to program the analyzer in real time for a long time unattended operation. Complete analyzer operation control from Customer’s PC and also simultaneous internal (analyzer itself) and external (to Customer’s PC) data logging is provided which ensures double security of your data. The data is stored on a UBS flash disk drive by the analyzer. All data is generated in CSV text format that can be conveniently viewed with our dedicated sofware and can be easily imported into Excel or other similar programs. Communication with PC is performed via the RS-232 interface.
